The short answer
Why use Perspective Crop?
A photo of a page taken at an angle is hard to read and prints crooked. Flattening it squares the text to the edges, so it reads like a scan and goes into a PDF or an email looking tidy.
Four corner dots start near the corners of the photo. Drag each one onto a corner of the page, whiteboard, or screen, or type the positions as percentages of the image width and height. The tool maps that four-sided area onto a flat rectangle and saves it as a PNG.
Leave the output width and height empty and the size is taken from the average length of the opposite edges as they appear in the photo. When the page was shot at a steep angle, the far edge looks short, so the result can come out squashed. For a known paper size, type its proportions instead: 2100 × 2970 for A4, or 2550 × 3300 for US Letter.
Perspective, in the Transform tools, does the opposite job: it narrows the top or bottom of a flat image so it looks tilted away from you. Use Perspective Crop to remove an angle, and Perspective to add one.

Perspective Crop tips
- Shoot the page with all four corners in the picture.
- Type 2100 × 2970 for an A4 page so it keeps its shape.
- If the result looks twisted, two corners are swapped.
- Even light matters more than the angle; shadows stay in the result.
