What Broken Link Checker does

The broken link checker collects links from the submitted page and requests up to 500 destinations. The result records status codes, timeouts, redirect targets, final URLs, and the source page or element where each link was found.

Status results are grouped so you can start with failures and unexpected redirects instead of reading a raw URL list. Link probes inside this check do not spend a separate credit for every destination.

Questions about Broken Link Checker

If your question is not covered here, send us a message and include the page, file, or result type you are working with.

What counts as a broken link?

The report flags request failures, timeouts, and HTTP responses that do not indicate a usable destination. Redirects are listed separately with their final URL.

Do 500 checked links cost 500 credits?

No. The submitted source page uses a credit, while the individual link status probes inside the run do not each consume one.

Why might a working link fail the check?

Some sites block automated requests, rate-limit visitors, or have short outages. Use the response details and retry before removing an important link.
