Pinterest image downloader — what this tool actually does

This Pinterest image downloader saves the pictures behind public pins without screenshotting each one. Pinterest is a bookmarking service, and most pins are images pinned from other sites. Paste a public board or pin URL and ExtractPics opens it in a real headless browser, finds the files behind the pins, and lets you preview and download the original resolution.

Pinterest does not own most photos in its feed. They belong to the sites and creators they were pinned from, and downloading does not give you the right to reuse them. Use this for public pins and personal reference like moodboards, planning or offline browsing. Follow Pinterest's terms and ask the creator before you republish an image.

Pinterest often places a sign-in prompt over public pages. Many individual pins and boards still show a signed-out preview, and that is what ExtractPics reads. It opens the URL in a browser, waits for the grid, scrolls for lazy-loaded pins, and takes the larger files listed in the responsive image data. You never give it a Pinterest username, password, cookie or account token. Use a direct pin or board URL. Search results and shortened links from other apps are less reliable because they do not point to one clear set of images.

A floating prompt does not always mean the board is private. If Pinterest has already sent the images to the public page, the extractor can collect them. It cannot open secret boards, private profiles, account-only feeds or pins hidden behind a required login. Long boards are another limit because Pinterest loads them in batches. The scan may finish before the last batch appears. Open the URL in a private browser window first. Images visible there without an account are the public images the tool can try to collect.

Why use this Pinterest image downloader

grid_view

A whole board at once

Drop in a public board URL and ExtractPics lists every pinned image it finds, so you save a full board of references in one pass instead of opening each pin.

high_quality

Originals, not thumbnails

Pin previews are scaled down. The tool follows each pin to the full-size image file behind it, so you download the original resolution rather than a shrunken preview.

folder_zip

One pin or a full set

Save a single pin, or select several and download them together in one ZIP instead of clicking through them one by one.

Why use a Pinterest image downloader responsibly

Screenshotting pins captures a small, recompressed picture with Pinterest's interface around it. The file behind a pin is the original — larger, sharper, and in its native format. A downloader fetches it cleanly so your references keep their quality, without the cropping and loss a screenshot brings.

ExtractPics only reaches images that are already publicly visible on a board or pin. It does not bypass logins, open private or secret boards, or break any protection Pinterest has put in place — it simply resolves a public link you already have to the files behind it.

Downloading is the easy part; using a pin responsibly is what matters. Most pins are someone else's work, and a file you can save is not a file you can republish. Keep downloads for personal reference, follow Pinterest's terms, credit and contact the original creator, and get permission before any commercial or public reuse.

Frequently asked questions

If your question is not covered here, send us a message and include the page, file, or result type you are working with.

How do I download images from a Pinterest board?

Open the public board on pinterest.com, copy its URL from the address bar, and paste it into the box at the top of this page. ExtractPics opens the board in a real browser, lists every pinned image it finds, and lets you download the full-resolution files individually or together as a ZIP.

Is this Pinterest image downloader free?

Yes. It runs in your browser with no signup and no software to install. Paste a public board or pin link and download right away. Very heavy or bulk use may hit a fair-use limit, but everyday saving is free.

Can I download a whole Pinterest board at once?

Yes. Paste a public board URL and the tool lists every image it finds on the board, scrolling to pick up lazy-loaded pins, so you can select them and download them together as a single ZIP.

Does it work with private or secret boards?

No. ExtractPics only reaches images that are already publicly visible. It does not log in, bypass access controls, or open private or secret boards — it only works with public boards and pins you can already see without signing in.

Is it legal to download Pinterest images? What about copyright and Pinterest's terms?

Most pins are images pinned from other websites and owned by those third-party sites or creators, and downloading a file never grants you the right to reuse it. Treat downloads as for personal reference only — moodboards, planning, inspiration. Respect Pinterest's terms of service and the original creator's copyright, and get the rights holder's permission before republishing or using a pinned image commercially or publicly.

Will the downloaded pin keep its original quality?

Yes. You receive the full-size file behind the pin at its original resolution and format. The tool does not re-compress or upscale anything and adds no watermark — though the source image may carry its own watermark or licensing.

Can I use a Pinterest image downloader on my phone?

Yes. ExtractPics is browser-based, so it works on mobile. Copy the board or pin link, paste it in, and save the images — easier than long-pressing pins, which some mobile pages make awkward to download.

Does the Pinterest downloader work when Pinterest shows a login prompt?

It can collect images that Pinterest has already delivered in the public signed-out view, even when a sign-in prompt floats over that view. It cannot continue when Pinterest makes login mandatory or when the board, profile, or pin is private.

Which Pinterest URL gives the best download result?

Paste the direct URL of one public pin or board. Search pages, home feeds, shortened app links, and profile pages mix unrelated or personalized results and are less reliable. Opening the target first and copying its address-bar URL gives the extractor a clear scope.

Why did the tool find only part of a large Pinterest board?

Pinterest loads long boards in batches while you scroll. ExtractPics scrolls during the scan, but an extremely long board, a network delay, duplicate pins, or a sign-in boundary can stop additional batches from loading. Run the direct board URL again or download the visible set in smaller sessions.

What is this pinterest image downloader?

ExtractPics is a free pinterest image downloader for public webpages. Paste a URL into the box, hit Extract, and wait a few seconds. We open the page in a real browser, collect the images it loaded, and show them so you can preview, filter, and download. You will usually get most of what is on the page. Login walls and private galleries are out of reach because we only see what a normal visitor sees.

How can I find specific images?

After a scan, use the format and size filters on the results toolbar. That is the fastest way to drop icons, skip tiny files, or keep only JPGs. Filenames show on each card, so you can scan for a product name or a known asset. Tick the ones you want and leave the rest. You do not have to download the whole pile.

What can I do with the results?

Preview every image in a grid. Filter by type or size. Copy one URL or copy all of them. Download a single file, or select several and get a ZIP. Quick Extract covers the page you pasted. Deep Extract follows a few linked pages when the set is paginated. There is no account required to try this.

The extraction does not work. Why?

The usual causes: the page is not public, it sits behind a login, or it is so slow or heavy that it never finishes loading. Very large infinite-scroll feeds can also time out. Try again in a minute, try a shorter URL (a single product page instead of a huge homepage), or switch between Quick Extract and Deep Extract. If the site itself is down, we cannot invent images that never loaded.

The download does not work. Why?

Some sites stop other pages from hotlinking their files. The preview may say it failed, or a ZIP may skip that image. Right-click the preview if you have one, or open the image URL in a new tab and save it from there. If nothing downloads at all, write to us from the contact page with the URL you tried.

How does the pinterest image downloader work?

Each run opens your URL in a headless Chrome browser. We wait for the page to render, run its JavaScript, and scroll so lazy-loaded pictures appear. Then we collect img tags, srcset sources, CSS backgrounds, picture elements, and SVG. Tracking pixels and broken URLs are stripped before you see the grid.

Does it work with dynamic websites?

Yes. The page is viewed the same way you would view it in Chrome. Scripts run. Network requests get a chance to finish. Infinite-scroll and lazy-load galleries are the reason we bother with a real browser instead of reading static HTML. If a picture only exists after you scroll, we try to load it before collecting.

How many images are extracted?

We scroll the page for several seconds and keep what loaded in that window — typically the first stretch of an infinite feed, not an endless crawl of the whole internet. Deep Extract can follow up to three linked pages. Duplicates and invalid files are removed. A 12-photo product page often returns all 12. A social feed that never stops scrolling will not.

Can I extract from multiple URLs at once?

Yes. Switch to Bulk Extract, paste more than one URL, and run it. Images from every address land in the same results grid, so you can filter and download them together. Each URL uses one global credit.
