Why use Discord PFP?
Discord shows your avatar as a small circle next to every message. Framing it yourself stops your face or logo from being clipped at the edges.
The download is a square PNG, 512 × 512 pixels by default. Discord stores the square and draws the circle itself, so the corners stay in the file and are simply hidden in chat. The ring on the result screen only shows what stays visible; it is not saved into the image.
You can type any width up to 8000 if you want a larger file for other sites. A GIF is read as a single still frame here, so an animated avatar comes out as a still PNG.
WhatsApp DP is the same square crop with a preview ring, sized at 640 pixels. Circle Crop is different: it cuts the corners away, so the PNG itself is round, which suits a website or a slide better than a Discord upload.

- 02Drag the circle over the part that should show next to your messages, and pull a corner handle to resize it.
- 03Tap Create crop, check the ring, then tap Download result and upload the PNG in Discord under User Settings, Profiles.
