Why use Rotate GIF?
A clip filmed sideways on a phone stays sideways when it becomes a GIF. Many image apps rotate only the first frame or flatten the animation into a still.
Rotation starts at 90° clockwise; the other choices are 180° and 90° counter-clockwise. Every frame is turned the same way, and each frame's delay and the loop setting are kept. Quarter turns swap the width and height, so a landscape GIF becomes portrait. No pixels are lost, because a turn by a multiple of 90 degrees fits the frame exactly.
Rotating is not the same as mirroring. If text in the GIF reads backwards, it was mirrored, and no rotation will fix it; use Flip GIF. A 180 degree turn puts the picture upside down, but left and right swap as well, which is different from a top-to-bottom flip. Play the result once to check the direction before you download.
Flip GIF mirrors the animation left to right. For a still photo at an odd angle, Rotate offers any value from -180 to 180 degrees. If the sideways clip also has black bars, run Crop GIF after rotating so the bars end up where the crop removes them.
