Why use PSD Viewer?
RAW, PSD, AI, and PDF files need special apps to open. This viewer answers the quick question, like what is in this file, without installing anything.
PSD Viewer reads the flattened composite that Photoshop stores alongside the layers, so what you see matches the last save. It skips decoding the individual layers, which keeps memory use low enough for big files on a phone. The status line gives the pixel size and the number of top-level layers; layers inside groups are not counted separately.
If Maximize Compatibility was off when the file was saved, there is no composite to show, and the tool tells you so. Open the file in Photoshop, turn that option on, and save again. Files up to 100 MB are accepted.
The download is a full-size PNG of the composite, handy when a client sends a PSD and you only need the picture. For Illustrator files use AI Viewer, and for camera RAW files use RAW Viewer.

How to use PSD Viewer

PSD Viewer tips
- An error about the composite means Maximize Compatibility was off; resave with it on.
- Layers inside groups are not counted, so the layer number can look low.
- You see the file as it was last saved, including any layers that were hidden then.
- Large PSDs open on phones too, because the separate layers are never decoded.
