Why use RAW to JPG?
A RAW file needs Lightroom, the camera maker's software, or a codec pack before most apps will open it. This gives you an ordinary JPEG without installing anything.
With Develop full RAW data off, the default, the tool pulls out the JPEG preview stored in the RAW file. That is quick and looks like the camera's own JPEG, with its picture style. Turn it on and LibRaw develops the sensor data itself with the camera's white balance at 8 bits per channel. A full develop is much slower and stops after 75 seconds.
A full develop applies white balance only. There is no picture style, lens correction, or noise reduction, so the result often looks flatter and softer than the camera JPEG. The 8 bit output also drops the extra highlight and shadow range the RAW held. If you plan heavy exposure edits, do them in a RAW editor before you export.
Output format starts on JPEG at quality 90 and also offers PNG, WebP and AVIF; when a browser cannot encode AVIF, the result falls back to WebP. RAW Viewer decodes the same files for viewing and always saves PNG. Resize Image or Compress Image can shrink the result for email or chat. Files over 100 MB are refused.

- 01Tap Choose RAW file and pick a DNG, CR2, CR3, NEF, ARW, ORF, or RW2 file up to 100 MB.
- 02Leave Develop full RAW data off for the fast embedded preview, or turn it on for every sensor pixel.
- 03Tap Apply changes, wait for the decode, then Download result to save the JPEG.
