Why use GIF to PNG?
PNG is accepted in many places that refuse GIF, and it is lossless, so a logo, icon, or piece of pixel art keeps its hard edges. Converting in an editor means opening the file and exporting by hand.
There is nothing to set. The first frame is copied pixel for pixel into a PNG at the GIF's width and height. Fully transparent pixels stay transparent, so a logo can sit on any background. Still GIFs with one frame convert the same way, and the preview shows the frame before you download it.
GIF transparency is all or nothing: each pixel is either solid or fully clear, with no soft edges. Logos made for a white page often carry a pale fringe of half-blended pixels, and the PNG keeps that fringe exactly. On a dark background it shows as a light outline, which only a redraw or an edge cleanup can remove.
GIF to JPG gives a smaller file for photo-like frames but fills transparency with white. Extract GIF Frames saves every frame as a PNG when you need more than the first. If you want to change the size of the still afterwards, Resize Image works on the PNG.

- GIF transparency has no soft edges, so a pale fringe may show on dark backgrounds.
