The short answer
Why use Mirror?
Phone cameras often save selfies mirrored, so signs and shirt prints read backwards. Mirror reverses that in one step without changing the size or cropping anything.
Mirror has no settings. It reflects the image across a vertical line through its middle, so the left edge becomes the right edge. Top and bottom stay where they are. The width and height are unchanged and nothing is cropped, so a 1080 × 1350 portrait comes back at exactly 1080 × 1350.
Faces can look slightly odd after mirroring, because most people are used to seeing themselves the mirrored way and others the other way. Text, logos, and clock faces are the reliable check: if they read correctly, you have the right version. The output is a PNG, which can be larger than your JPEG.
Flip is the top-to-bottom version and turns the picture upside down. Rotate turns it around its center instead of reflecting it. If you need a mirrored animated GIF, use Flip GIF, which reverses every frame left to right and keeps the animation and its timing. A still GIF opened here is saved as a PNG.

Mirror tips
- Use a logo or clock in the photo to confirm which version is correct.
- Mirroring a portrait can make a familiar face look slightly unfamiliar.
- Need an animated version? Flip GIF swaps every frame left to right.
- The width and height stay identical, so the result drops into the same layout slot.
