Why use Flip?
Many phone editors only offer a left-right flip, and turning a photo 180 degrees is not the same thing, because rotation also swaps left and right. Flip changes only the vertical direction.
Flip has no sliders. It reflects the picture across a horizontal line through its middle, so the sky ends up at the bottom and the ground at the top, while anything on the left stays on the left. The width and height do not change, and no pixels are lost or resampled, so a 1920 × 1080 image comes back at 1920 × 1080.
The download is always a PNG, even if you opened a JPEG. That keeps the pixels exact, but a camera photo saved as PNG can be several times larger than the original. If you need a small file for the web, run the result through Compress Image or Image Converter afterwards.
Mirror is the sibling for a left-right swap, which is what you want for a selfie whose text reads backwards. Rotate turns the picture instead of reflecting it. For a water reflection effect, flip a copy of the photo, then stack the original and the flipped copy with Merge Images set to Vertical.

Flip tips
- Flip twice and you are back to the original picture.
- Text will read upside down but not backwards, unlike a 180 degree rotation.
- For a left-right swap, open Mirror instead.
- Stack the original above the flipped copy with Merge Images set to Vertical for a lake reflection.
