Why use Flip GIF?
Selfie-camera clips and some screen captures come out mirrored, so text reads backwards. Flipping every frame by hand would need a video editor.
Flip GIF has no options. Every frame is mirrored across its vertical center line, so the left edge becomes the right edge. The width, height, frame delays, and loop setting all stay exactly as they were. It works on any GIF up to 300 frames and 50 MB, including still one-frame GIFs.
Mirroring fixes backwards text, but it also reverses everything else: logos, a watch on the left wrist, a road sign. If the GIF had correct text plus a mirrored scene, flipping trades one problem for the other. A mirrored motion also changes the feel of a reaction GIF, since a glance to the side now points the other way.
Rotate GIF turns the animation by 90 or 180 degrees, and combining the two gives a vertical flip. Reverse GIF changes the direction in time instead of in space, playing the frames backwards. For still images, the Flip tool applies the same kind of mirror to a photo, and Rotate handles any angle.
