The short answer
Why use Detective Board?
A generator is useful when exact dimensions matter more than a stock template. The result can be rebuilt with new values instead of stretched after the fact.
Detective Board focuses on laying out a printable case board from selected images. Selected images are arranged on a browser canvas and exported as a new flattened graphic.
The selected file stays in this browser tab and is released when you leave the page. PNG keeps lines and labels sharp at the chosen pixel dimensions. Check long text for wrapping before saving.
What Detective Board does
Set the canvas
Drop, choose, or paste a supported file into Detective Board. Laying out a printable case board from selected images. The source stays on your device; we work on a copy.
Draw from your values
Detective Board is for laying out a printable case board from selected images. The preview is the place to decide if the setting went too far. The original file is not overwritten.
Useful controls
Main controls: Canvas dimensions plus the labels, colors, data, or layout required by the generator. Working limit: Generated canvases are capped at 8,000 pixels per side. Watch the preview at full size before you save. A current desktop browser usually has more memory than a phone.
Download or print
Export is png, svg, html code, or a zip where the tool produces multiple assets. The download is a new file. Keep the original until you have opened the copy once.
Where Detective Board fits
These are ordinary jobs where the focused controls save time. They also show where a full editor or a manual review may still be the better choice.
Mockups
Create a correctly sized stand-in before the final artwork arrives.
Reusable assets
Rebuild Detective Board with new values instead of resizing an old export.
Planning
Make a visual guide that can be downloaded, printed, or handed to a teammate.
