Why use Extract Audio from Video?
Getting the audio out of a clip usually means installing a video editor or a command line tool. Here the file is read in your browser and you get a WAV that any audio app can open.
There are no settings. Choose a video up to 500 MB and tap Apply changes; the status line shows the progress as a percentage and you can cancel. The download is named after your video with -audio.wav at the end. Only the sound track is decoded, not the picture, so even long recordings get through without loading the whole video into memory.
Whether a file works depends on your browser. If it can read the container but not the audio codec inside, the tool says so and suggests current Chrome or Edge, which decode the widest range. A video with no sound track at all is reported as such. Keep in mind that a one-hour lecture becomes a WAV of well over half a gigabyte.
If you want the picture instead of the sound, Video to GIF makes a short looping clip and Video Frame Extractor saves a single still at full resolution. To shrink the WAV into an MP3 or AAC file, open it in an audio app such as Audacity and export it there.
