The short answer
Why use Trim Transparent?
Exported logos, stickers, and cut-outs often sit in a canvas much bigger than the content, which throws off alignment and spacing in layouts. Finding the exact edge by hand is fiddly; here it is measured pixel by pixel.
Alpha threshold runs from 0 to 254 on the 0 to 255 opacity scale and starts at 0. At 0, any pixel with even a trace of opacity counts as content. At 10, pixels at about 4% opacity or less count as empty. The preview shows the trimmed result as you move the slider, and Create crop saves it.
Soft drop shadows and glows fade out very gradually, so they are usually what keeps a canvas large. A higher threshold cuts into them and can leave a shadow with a straight edge. Check the edges at full size before you raise it past about 30. A fully transparent image gives an error, since there is nothing to keep.
Remove White BG and Green Screen Remover create the transparency in the first place; run one of them and then trim. Crop Image is the choice when you want a fixed size or ratio rather than the content edge. Square Image adds even padding back around a trimmed logo.
