Why use Solid Color?
Plain color images are needed for slide backgrounds, placeholder thumbnails, and testing screens, and drawing one in an editor means making a new file and filling it. Here you only pick a color and a size.
The Color picker starts at #c81e4b. Width starts at 1200 and Height at 800 pixels, and each can be anything from 16 to 8000. The preview refreshes a moment after each change, so you do not have to tap Apply changes first. The file is a PNG, which stores a single color very compactly.
The 50 megapixel limit counts width times height, so very large squares and wide banners can hit it before either side reaches 8000. An error appears instead of the image if that happens. The color is stored exactly, but some phones and apps apply a color profile on display, so it can look a touch different on screen.
Placeholder adds the size as text in the middle, handy for layout mockups. Square Image puts your photo onto a square of a chosen background color. If you have a CMYK or RGB value instead of a hex code, run CMYK to RGB or RGB to CMYK first to get the hex.

Solid Color tips
- Width times height must stay under 50 megapixels.
- 1920 by 1080 makes a plain desktop or video background.
- A one-color PNG is tiny, even at large sizes.
- For a size label in the middle, use Placeholder instead.
