The short answer
Why use Color Changer?
Mocking up a product or a graphic in a new color by repainting it takes time. A whole-image recolor that keeps the shading gives a believable preview of the idea in seconds.
Pick the target with Color, which starts at #c81e4b, a deep pink-red. Every pixel is rebuilt with that color's hue and saturation but keeps its own lightness, so shading, texture and highlights stay in place. Amount, 0 to 100, blends the original with the recolored version: 50, the default, is an even mix and 100 is a full recolor.
Because lightness is kept, pure white stays white and pure black stays black, while grays and pale areas take on the new color. A dark target such as navy still gives a bright result on light pixels, since only the hue and saturation come from your pick. A mid-tone object on a plain background gives the most believable preview.
Color Replacer only changes pixels close to a color you pick, which is what you want for one object. Color Editor swaps only the hue and keeps each pixel's saturation, so gray areas stay gray. Tint mixes your color in at up to 50% and lowers contrast. Hue Adjust rotates every color by an angle instead.
