Image Information
These tools read a file and report on it without changing it. Size, ratio, and megapixel checks work on any image. EXIF, location, shutter count, and DPI depend on metadata that a camera or app saved, and chat apps and social networks often strip that data when a photo is sent.
Files stay in your browser.
Size Finder shows an image's width and height in pixels, file size in KB or MB, aspect ratio and megapixels, and saves them as text. Free, no signup, no upload.
Open toolAspect Ratio finds an image's exact width-to-height ratio, its decimal value, and the nearest common ratio such as 16:9 or 4:5. Free, no signup, no upload.
Open toolMegapixel counts how many megapixels an image really has, from its width and height, and shows the print size at 300 DPI. Free, no signup, no upload.
Open toolDPI Checker reads the DPI stored in a JPEG or PNG file and shows how big it prints at that density, or at 300 and 150 DPI. Free, no signup, no upload.
Open toolImage Extractor online: pull the embedded preview image out of a photo file. Your file is not changed. Results in seconds. The file is not uploaded.
Open toolPPI Checker shows the PPI of an image online. See the resolution value stored in a JPG or PNG, or learn that the file has none. Free, no upload.
Open toolEXIF Viewer lists the camera, lens, exposure, date and GPS tags stored in a photo as plain lines you can copy or save as text. Free, no signup, no upload.
Open toolPhoto Location reads the GPS latitude, longitude and altitude saved in a photo and gives an OpenStreetMap link to the spot. Free, no signup, no upload.
Open toolShutter Count reads the shutter count from a camera photo's EXIF and maker notes, including Nikon and newer Fujifilm bodies. Free, no signup, no upload.
Open toolHistogram Viewer draws the red, green and blue histogram of an image so you can spot clipped shadows, blown highlights and color casts. Free, no upload.
Open toolWhat each check reads
- Size Finder: Width and height in pixels plus the file size, the first thing to check when an upload form refuses a picture.
- Aspect Ratio: Reduces the dimensions to a ratio such as 16:9 or 4:3, so you know whether a photo will fit a frame without cropping.
- DPI Checker: Reads the resolution value stored in the file. PPI Checker reads the same tag, and a missing value is normal for screenshots and web images.
- EXIF Viewer: Camera, lens, exposure settings, and capture date, when the file still carries them.
- Photo Location: GPS coordinates saved by a phone camera. Worth checking before you post a photo taken at home.
- Shutter Count: Looks for a shutter count tag. Many cameras, including most Canon and Sony bodies, keep the count inside the camera only, so an empty result is common.
- Image Extractor: Pulls out the small preview JPEG that many cameras embed inside a photo file.
- Histogram Viewer: Plots red, green, and blue from dark to light, so you can spot clipped shadows or blown highlights.
