Measurement

Measurement tools put draggable points on your photo and update the reading as you move them. Results start in pixels. Type a Pixels per unit value, worked out from something of known length in the same photo, and the readings switch to that unit, such as centimeters or inches.

Files stay in your browser.

Measure Distance→

Measure distance on an image online. Drag two points to get the length in pixels, or set a scale for cm, mm, or inches. Free, no upload, works on phones.

Open tool
Measure Area→

Measure Area finds the area of a triangle you mark on an image, in square pixels or your own units once you set a scale. Free, no signup, no upload.

Open tool
Measure Angle→

Measure Angle reads the angle between three points you place on an image, from 0 to 180 degrees with two decimals. Free, no signup, no upload.

Open tool
Measure Perimeter→

Measure Perimeter adds up the three sides of a triangle you mark on an image, in pixels or real units after you set a scale. Free, no signup, no upload.

Open tool
Measure Radius→

Measure Radius draws a circle you size over a round part of an image and reads its radius and diameter in pixels or units. Free, no signup, no upload.

Open tool
Measure Image→

Measure Image reads an image's width and height in pixels, aspect ratio, megapixels, file size and print size at 300 DPI. Free, no signup, no upload.

Open tool
Protractor→

Protractor measures any angle in a photo or scanned worksheet: drag three points and read degrees to two decimals. Free, no signup, no upload.

Open tool
Pixel Counter→

Pixel Counter online: count the non-transparent pixels in an image. Works on phones. Drag points on the image. Pixels or real units. Free, no signup.

Open tool
Count Objects→

Count Objects finds common objects like people, cars and bottles in a photo, boxes and numbers each one, and gives a total. Free, no signup, no upload.

Open tool
Find Coordinates→

Find Coordinates shows the exact x and y pixel position of any point on an image, measured from the top-left corner. Free, no signup, no upload.

Which measurement tool to open

  • Measure Distance: Two points and one straight-line length. Use it for the length of a crack, a wall, or a part in a product photo.
  • Measure Angle: Three points, with the middle one as the corner of the angle. Protractor runs the same calculation.
  • Measure Area: Area of a triangle from three points. Split a rectangle or irregular shape into triangles and add the results.
  • Measure Perimeter: The three sides of a triangle added together.
  • Measure Radius: Place a center and type a radius. The circle is drawn on the photo and the diameter is shown, for checking round parts.
  • Find Coordinates: The x and y pixel position of one point, counted from the top-left corner, for CSS, image maps, or code.
  • Count Objects: Detects common things like people, cars, and animals with a model on your device, numbers each box, and lets you add one manual box for anything it misses.
  • Pixel Counter: Counts every non-transparent pixel, a quick way to compare the size of two cutouts.

Frequently asked questions

How do I measure distance on a photo in centimeters?

Include something of known size in the photo, such as a ruler, a coin, or an A4 sheet, and measure it in pixels first. Divide its pixel length by its real length (420 px ÷ 21 cm = 20) and type that into Pixels per unit. The reference has to be at the same distance from the camera as the thing you measure.

How accurate is measuring on a photo?

Only as accurate as the photo. Lens distortion and shooting at an angle stretch some parts more than others. Shoot straight on, keep the reference in the same plane as the subject, and place points on crisp edges.

Can I measure the area of an irregular shape?

Not in one step. Measure Area handles triangles, so split the shape into triangles and add them up. For a transparent cutout, Pixel Counter gives the visible pixel count; divide it by Pixels per unit squared to get real area.

Can I type exact point positions instead of dragging?

Yes. Each point has X and Y fields in pixels in the settings, so you can enter or fine-tune positions by hand.
